Amaya has always had a passion for the law and, specifically, a desire to understand the laws that govern our society.
Hailing originally from Rockhampton, she moved to Townsville for university in 2020 and now considers herself a proud Townsville local. Amaya graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Laws with Distinction in December 2023. She will complete her Practical legal training with the College of Law in March before being admitted as a solicitor in mid 2024.
When she is not at work Amaya spends her time volunteering. She is a grassroots organiser for the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, the secretary for the Management Committee of the North Queensland Conservation Council and a member of the Townsville Community Alliance.
She is also a member of the Townsville Young Chamber of Commerce and the Townsville District Law Association.
